This saying makes me smile, we are all built the way we are built. We are all beautiful in our own way and what matters is what is on the inside!

Imperfections: Bookshelves

Imperfections: I think the best place to have imperfections in a home is where you put all those amazing books that hold a place in your heart. This is also where you display your picture frames, personal items and even those random accessories you have nowhere to display. Don't forget this is a place to express yourself and your design style. You can keep it formal or make it look messy. I love adding wall covering to the back of the bookshelf to give it depth, and lastly its okay to put things facing out this draws your attention to the bookshelves and has you wanting to look at all the goodies.

Entryways!!!

Who doesn't love a great Entryway? Well our house really doesn't have a formal entryway, when you walk in to our house, you walk right into the living room. We are getting ready to put our house on the market so I wanted to make our entryway feel like an "Entryway" I found this inspiration from {http://gallery.apartmenttherapy.com/photo/la-emilyhousetour-bethanynauert/item/222556} it was simplistic with a vintage gold mirror and a plexiglass table. I have my grandmothers vintage gold mirror that had been in my basement for years and now I had a place to put it. I think the end result makes the house feel cozy and inviting and allows for a place to throw your keys after a long day at work.

July 4th Nails!!

Wanting something fun for your nails that is July 4th inspired? Here is a simple, but not over done way to make your fingernails festive.
 Using {Essie Mesmerized, Essie Non-ship top coat and any silver sparkle you can find}
 Painting your nails with 2 coats of the {Essie Mesmerized nail color}

 After letting your solid color nail color dry, then do two coats of the silver sparkle.

End this with a top coat of the {Essie Non-chip topcoat} for that nice shine and long lasting color.

Happy 4th of July!!!

Chocolate Toffee Cookies

YUMM.. It's Friday and 4th of July weekend. Why not start if off baking delicious chocolate toffee cookies? Here is what you will need.

1/2 cup all purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 pound bittersweet or semi-sweet chocolate
1/4 cup {1/2} stick unsalted butter
1 3/4 cups {packed} brown sugar
4 large eggs
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
5 1.4 ounce chocolate-covered toffee bars {Heath works just fine, broken up}
1 cup of walnuts, toasted, chopped

Combine flour, baking powder and salt in a small bowl; whisk to blend.
 Stir chocolate and butter on top of boiling water or use a double boiler. Mix until melted and smooth. Remove from over water, cool mixture to lukewarm.
 Using an electric mixture, beat sugar and eggs in a bowl until thick, about 5 minutes.

Then add in the chocolate and butter mixture. {blend well}
 Now break up the heath bars. {I like keeping them in semi big chunks that way when you take a bite, you get a large chunk of delicious toffee}

Now add in the flour mixture, walnuts and toffee. Chill the batter for 45 minutes, until firm.
Once you have chilled the batter, preheat oven to 350 Degrees. {bake for 12-15 min} Line 2 large baking sheets with parchment paper {or in my case one non-stick baking sheet} bake the cookies until the tops of them are dry and cracked but the cookies themselves are still soft to the touch {they will keep cooking after taken out of the oven}

 The end Result!!! Definitely for the toffee lovers!! YUM
